I am still attempting to create abstracts on watercolour paper. Often, when my perception of a piece is 'that's interesting', I find my friends seem to really like that painting. Let's see what you think!

#1087 - Antennas - 7 x 10 acrylic on watercolour paper |
This painting was, once again, intended to be quite different from the finished product. It just kept changing on me! The photo is upside-down from the way the piece was painted but this is the orientation I liked best.

I would really like to hear what you think so please leave a comment!
Thanks for stopping by!
One of my faves of this challenge! This piece can be anyway the viewer wants to put it. It has good design.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry I can't reply to your comments on my blog right now. Having technical problems. My email is karen@karenknutson.com if you'd like to keep in touch that way till the problem is fixed.
Thank you so much Karen for both your comments and your address - I will definitely get in touch. I am so glad you like this. One of the pluses for abstract - the viewer has more say - lol.
DeleteI like this one. It looks like an abstracted hillside town done in collage. It was interesting to read that the original orientation was the opposite way. Love how you experiment and get such great results!
ReplyDeleteThank you Joan. I just love reading everyone's different views on these abstract paintings - they really make me take a second, third and fourth look. BTW - I don't always get great results but I haven't thrown anything away yet this month.
DeleteI love the colors in this, and to me, it does look like a busy industrial town. And "Fire and Ice"- you can TOTALLY capture and convey movement, Val!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your comments, Laurie. Wow, 'a busy industrial town' - new eyes, new insights. Ain't abstract grand? Glad you like "Fire and Ice" too.
DeleteOne of my favorites of the entire challenge Val!! Makes me think of the old movie, How Green Was My Valley. Love the industrial feel, combined with the lovely warmth, which softens the "hard" lines. Do I see a few figures as well.? Whatever this was supposed to be, I am so glad that this came to be. Awesome work my friend :)
ReplyDeleteIt just goes to prove that I don't know beans about my own work! So many people really like this painting and I was ready to chuck it. Thank you so much for your super comments Sheila - maybe I will frame this piece after all - lol.
DeleteWonderful piece, Val and the composition is marvellous. I love this one.
ReplyDeleteWow! I must say I was surprised by your reaction as the colours are not what I think of when I think of you. Thank you so much, Win.
