30 Paintings - Day 16

Here is a piece that I hope will brighten your day: it makes me think of springtime and flowers.
#1082 - Lilac Blooms - 5 x 7 acrylic on 1" canvas board
This is similar to yesterday's painting and is a style that I wish I could produce more often as I think it really works.

Now, I am off to add this to Leslie's Blog and then get to work on another painting!

I enjoy hearing from you so please leave a comment.

  2. Lovely!!! I think the monochromatic look really accents the composition and makes the flowers stand out.

  3. You are really in the flow here Val - Awesome work! I agree, you should do more of these. The composition is terrific, and the fading whites, the mix again of hard and organic. All works!! Then to top it off, those luscious colors! Do I see some indigo, or is it purple straight from the tube?

    1. Thank you Sheila, I am so glad you like it, You are right, there is some deep blue in this. I have been using Anthraquinone Blue with some burnt sienna for my darks. - Good eye there, girl!

    1. Thanks Win. I have watched a number of Youtube videos and always think that they use too many diverse colours. I liked this as it was and decided to stop while I was happy!
