A New Year - A New 30 Paintings Challenge

I really hadn't planned to enter Leslie Saeta's 30 Paintings in 30 Days challenge this January but I just couldn't help myself. My first thought was to do a series of small acrylic pieces but, due to my continued interest in Quilling, I think I will work in both media over the month.

Here is my painting for Day #1.
Copper Beech Tree
"Copper Beech Tree" is acrylic on a home-made 5 x 7 x 3/4" canvas board. The painting is based on a photo of a tree in my yard.

To see some of the contributions by other artists go to Leslie's page; http://30paintingsin30days.weebly.com/blog

See you tomorrow!

    1. I think you were right the first time about about 'committed' - lol - as I often think I should be. As I have a whole bunch of canvas, my husband offered to cut some pieces of 3/4' plywood to any size I wanted, then I could cover the wood with the canvas and have my own 'gallery wrap' boards. This is instead of using stretcher bars. I am not sure that I like the finished product as they don't have the give that stretched canvases have but it was an interesting experiment. Thanks for the compliment of my painting. I hope you are doing the challenge too!
