We went out for dinner last night and the lights shining on the pavement gave me the idea for today's painting. Of course, I didn't want to do a night scene so I just went for "A Walk in the Rain".

A Walk in the Rain |
This is acrylic on a 6 x 8 gallery wrap canvas and it was mostly done with a palette knife. This style of painting was very popular on Facebook last year but I haven't seen any so far this year - I am often out of step - lol.
With just 6 days left in the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge, if you haven't already checked out the work of the other artists you should. It is a great way to connect with other artists and to find new ones to follow. Here is the link -

I hope everyone - wherever you are - are surviving whatever weather that is being thrown at you!
Makes me cold looking at the wet environment! This is wonderful Val, great job :)
ReplyDeleteHa, Ha! Thanks Cindy - we have had a lot of rain lately and with the snow as a background it does look and is cold and damp. But at least we are not on the east coast which has it worse. - thanks for stopping by.
DeleteVal this is awesome. Kind of creep with all of the red. But that is how things look at night in the rain. Surreal. Your reflections are fabulous and I really love how you have created the night, light sky!
ReplyDeleteThank you Sheila. I really couldn't decide on a time of day for this piece and ended up just putting color on - glad you like it.
DeleteI like this a lot, reflections are lovely. You are hot out of step, just reviving a good look. Aren't we lucky to visualize things others take for granted.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nelvia. I enjoyed doing this piece so it doesn't matter if I am out of step - I might even do more - lol. And, it is not just about visualizing - it is about rendering a representation of what others take for granted. Thanks for your comment.
DeleteI like this! Great reflected light on the path.
ReplyDeleteThanks Joan - ain't it great when things work out?
DeleteLove it, Val.. a great sense of perspective and light.
ReplyDeleteThanks Laurie. I think I will play with this subject again!
