I really hadn't planned to enter Leslie Saeta's 30 Paintings in 30 Days challenge this January but I just couldn't help myself. My first thought was to do a series of small acrylic pieces but, due to my continued interest in Quilling, I think I will work in both media over the month.
Here is my painting for Day #1.

Copper Beech Tree |
"Copper Beech Tree" is acrylic on a home-made 5 x 7 x 3/4" canvas board. The painting is based on a photo of a tree in my yard.

See you tomorrow!
You my friend have been one busy gal, love your retrospective. Also so glad you too should be committed, I mean are committed to the 30 day challenge. That is where we met last year and glad to follow your adventures again!! Ok got me on the homemade board?? I love the colors here the leaves just pop off that blue sky.
ReplyDeleteI think you were right the first time about about 'committed' - lol - as I often think I should be. As I have a whole bunch of canvas, my husband offered to cut some pieces of 3/4' plywood to any size I wanted, then I could cover the wood with the canvas and have my own 'gallery wrap' boards. This is instead of using stretcher bars. I am not sure that I like the finished product as they don't have the give that stretched canvases have but it was an interesting experiment. Thanks for the compliment of my painting. I hope you are doing the challenge too!
DeleteThis is really gorgeous, Val. I am so glad you're in the challenge!
ReplyDeleteThanks Laurie
DeleteSweet piece Val. Makes me think of rainy day. (I love rainy days.) So glad you are in the challenge my friend!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sheila. Rainy days and fog when you can be snuggled up with a book and a cup of tea! The Challenge can keep us going or drive us crazy - lol
DeleteLovely Val!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jackie
DeleteEven without quilling you have so much texture in this!!
ReplyDeleteThis would be a challenge to quill - lol Thanks for looking and commenting on all my blogs. Leslie’s' challenge is such a great way to 'meet' new artists
