I really didn't think I was going to get this done or that it would turn out as well as it did.

Sunflower |
"Sunflower" is on another homemade canvas board, 5 x 7 x 3/4"; painted with acrylics even on the edges so no frame is needed. I used one of the cards I did during the September challenge as a reference for the flower and sort of made up the old barn.
Now I have to put my mind to figuring out a subject for tomorrow!
Very nice!

ReplyDeleteWonderful work Val! Love all the colors in that old wood :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sheila - I like it too!
DeleteDepicting wood is sooooo difficult and you got it! Very nice
ReplyDeleteThanks Addie. I have many cedar walls in my house so I have lots of reference material - lol
DeleteLove this painting, the textures, the sunflower - aren't they just the happiest flowers and our finches just adore them too. This has such a nice country mood. Addie's right you nailed the boards.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nelbia. I can't seem to grow sunflowers so I have to rely on photos. A friend had some this past summer that were over 10 ft but my birds have to be content with seeds in a feeder.
DeleteI just love the texture and look of the barn board as a backdrop to the sunflower. Nice!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Joan. Barn board is fun to do!
