30/30 January Challenge #27

We are coming down to the wire with only 3 days left after today. In the past these challenges have been a chore for me but this one has been a breeze. I was able to find plenty of things to paint and each painting seemed to be easy to do - talk about lucky!
#1004 - Gnarled Stump - 6 x 8 pen & ink with watercolour
"Gnarled Stump" is another piece based on a tutorial by Claudia Nice - I really like her work!  A stump like this would probably be more grey, but I wanted the painting to match the mat so I made it in browns. I enjoy doing pen & ink art and really should do it more often but, somehow, I never seem to.

I am going to post this on Leslie's 30/30 page , then I am heading to my studio to plan a few more paintings. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

    1. LOL I had to laugh at your comment Laurie. It is amazing what a little blue and brown can do for an old stump. Thanks for stopping by.

  2. I really like both of these, yesterday's, and yes I am a late!! I think you have found the secret, give us something we don't expect and it does make the mundane now exciting. I love the look of pen and ink and the control, but it does sure take some time. Nice job

    1. Thanks Nelvia. I wondered where you were - lol. Glad you like this. I think switching things up makes painting everyday more manageable - gotta keep the creative juices fresh!

  3. I can't believe how you made me look at gnarled tree stumps now. I can see abstract shapes in them. Thanks! Nice to meet you through this 30 Day challenge.
