30/30 January Challenge #24

The other day, when I was trying to think of something to paint, I decided to see if I could duplicate one of the paintings I did last year. But, this time I was going to paint in watercolour instead of acrylic.
#935 - Waling in the Rain - 6 x 8 acrylic
This is last year's painting; an acrylic palette knife piece on a small gallery wrap canvas.
#1001 - Autumn Rain - 5 x 7 watercolour
And this is this year's painting! I am very pleased with the way this turned out and it was such fun to paint.

There are only six days left in Leslie's 30/30 Challenge so head over and check out what the other artists have been doing before it is too late.

Thanks for stopping by - please leave a comment!

    1. Thanks Sheila. I wasn't sure if I could get the same effect with the watercolour but was very pleased with the finished piece. It is fun to experiment!

  2. You certainly looked a lot more comfortable with doing this piece again. The difference in medium is apparent but the feel is still there. I like the brighter colors in the new one as well. Nice.

  4. The original acrylic was really nice, but I like the vivid colors in the watercolor version. You got such nice rich colors! Well done!

    1. Thanks Joan, I like the cleanness of the watercolours too and, of course, the white of the paper adds to the glow - especially of the red. Glad you like it.
