I think I bit off more than I could chew with today's painting. It involved making very thin lines with masking fluid and a fish, which I have never painted before.

#993 - Goldfish Travel Bag - 5 x 7 watercolour |
|
My reference was another magazine clipping from my Miscellaneous file. I think the painting looks better in the photo than it does in person but I may be wrong. I also think these are two subjects that I need to work on to get the right effect.
Take some time to have a look at some of the other art on
Leslie's 30/30 page.
See you tomorrow!
This really made me smile. It reminds me of the goldfish you win at the carnival. You did a great job on the thin lines in masking and the translucence of the bag. Nicely done!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Joan. I remember seeing those goldfish at carnivals here too although I was lucky never to win one - lol. I have a special applicator for masking fluid but I use it for glue which shows how often I use mask. Glad you like my effort.
DeleteI think you did great Val! I was a little confused where the top of the bag is at first. The fish is beautiful, and the shine of the bag is convincing! High five for taking on such a difficult subject!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sheila for you supportive comments - I will have to try both subjects again some day.
DeleteWow you took it on girl. Plastic and water and I think you did a great job with both on this. Bravo.
ReplyDeleteThanks for yesterday's support, I think I am over the edge now and getting my second wind. I stepped back for some easier paintings that could be done in much less time than I was trying earlier on. Too aggressive I guess.
Thanks Nelvia, glad you like it. And, you are welcome; we all need a boost now and then.- I like today's 'easier' painting.
