30/30 January 2017 Finale

It is January 31 and the challenge is over except for the Grand Finale. It has been a super month and I have learned a few new techniques, explored new subjects, dusted off some old skills and made some new artist friends.
January 2017 Collage
Joan mentioned in her blog yesterday that doing the collage is almost harder than doing the paintings. I tend to agree. I have so much trouble getting the curser to move the paintings where I want them! I tried to line the photos up in order but ended up just putting the last few where ever the curser moved them.

Stop by Leslie's 30/30 page to see all of the collages. Think about signing up for a challenge in the future; Leslie usually does them in September and January. They are a great way to expand your horizons and build up your portfolio.

Although I won't be blogging daily, I hope you will sign up to follow me to see what I am doing during the rest of the year.

  1. This turned out so well and my goodness you did a lot of things and subjects. i think my favs are the pen/ink and the black/whites. Oh, just realized that they are all ovals - hmm, does that mean something? Will stay tuned for your next adventure. Got my seed catalog and already I see my garden growing.

    1. Thanks Nelvia. I am not sure if liking the pieces with oval frames means anything other than you like the look of pen work but I could be wrong and it is a deep seated problem - lol. I actually had to buy some seed this year and went to EBay for some of them - we will see. I am planning to do some transplanting today as the Salvia needs thinning - happy dance here as I get to play in the dirt. Take care and enjoy!

  4. It was great to follow your posts throughout the month and read about what you were doing. Now that the month is over it will seem so quiet. lol You did a good job on the collage. I tried redoing mine and couldn't get more than one image into the collage template.

    1. I think it will be quiet at least for a while until we catch our breath. I had to chuckle about your comment regarding the collage - it took me 3 tries to get it right. Nelvia is trying another design program - canva.com - and I am going to try it too - might be easier. Good luck and see you in the blogs - lol

  5. Val, are you on Facebook? If not you can email me at nelviamcgrath@gmail.com and I can walk you through canva.com, at least what little I have learned. Enough to get you started I think.
