To help me get back in the groove of doing Pen & Ink, I have been using some books by Claudia Nice for ideas and reference. A number of my cards are based on her drawings.

I find that it takes some time to get back the flow of a different medium when you have not done it for a while. Also, 'seeing' colored things in black and white can be difficult.
Practice, practice, practice!
What a tree! Wonderful Val!
ReplyDeleteIt is a wonderful old cedar isn't it? Thanks Sheila
DeleteYou've captured the strength and beauty of the cedar!
ReplyDeleteI am surrounded by cedar trees but I rarely see them from a distance. This was a pleasure to draw. Thanks for you comment
Deleteah... another monotone :D My favorite things to do :) Lovely :)
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy - every once in a while I feel the need for black & white instead of color - lol. Thanks for stopping by.

ReplyDeleteIsn't she a super teacher. Loving this tree, it has strength and wisdom. Wish we had trees like this here in GA. In NC there is a park ,Joyce Kilmer, with a stand of first growth trees, like going to church walking through them.
ReplyDeleteHi Nelvia - She is a wonderful artist and I am so glad she has books so people can learn from her. I have always felt that the forest is God's church and love being surrounded by trees with the mountains behind.
