Art is the Voice of the Soul - Speak Up!
My second card is a mystery! I do not know who this postcard is from as there was only an email address (which I hope I read correctly as Bob and I disagreed on some of the letters in the address). No name, no web page, no way to be sure that my email got to her/him okay. There was also a charming sentiment -
May your eyes find BEAUTY wherever they look!
I hope whoever sent this will see my post and get in touch so I can find out who they are.
When I got my cards I realized that I went overboard when I wrote on the back of my own postcards but as it is my first year I am sure people will understand. Next time I will try to come up with some interesting sayings.
I am looking forward to getting the rest of my cards for this years swap and will definitely be participating again.
Awesome cards Val! And I love the texture of the snow, and stones, they are perfect compliments :) You are welcome to write anything, and as much or as little as you want on the back. I am sure the recipients will enjoy them no matter :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sheila. I am glad I did ok with the posting as I wasn't sure what to do. One card was so shiny I knew I needed to photograph it outside- fortunately it wasn't raining today. I basically introduced myself on the backs of my cards - no good quotes from me this year - lol.
DeleteI love the way you displayed your cards outside! Can't believe you have snow when it's 70 here! (Arkansas) I think I may have gotten a postcard from the mystery person, too. It has a similar look, no name and only an email address that Jerry and I disagree on the letters! I'm hoping my email reached her! I think whatever you wrote on the back of your card is just fine. Some people write about themselves, some about their art, and some add quotes.
ReplyDeleteHi Cathy. Yup, we have snow still although none of it fresh. Our temps have reached 50 a few times but we want gradual thaws so we don't get any more flooding or mud slides in the area. I am hoping that the mystery artist sees the post on the FB group page and gets in touch. Thank you for your comments. Have a great day.
DeleteAh I need to look into this and next year!! What a neat project, like Christmas again with special gifts.
ReplyDeleteMorning Nelvia. This is my first year participating in the Liberate Your Art postcard swap and it has been very interesting. I have some new followers on Facebook and a new blog that I am following; new art to see and enjoy on the FB group page as well as what I am getting in the mail. It seems to be a win/win all around. I will try to make sure you get the link next year so you can join too. Have a great day.
DeleteLooks like a fun project. How many cards did you have to send out? For several years I did exchange projects with people on WetCanvas. We exchanged postcards, ATCs and 5 x 7 paintings. It was always fun when one arrived in the mail. We would usually do from 12 - 24 cards in the project...one for each person participating.
ReplyDeleteHi Joan, It has been fun and I have found a number of new artists to follow on FB and through blogs. The initial swap is for 6 cards but a number of those who have done it before do side swaps and some of them send out quite a few cards. I imagine it can get costly to send out too many even though postcards are cheaper than envelopes. I think I will stick to the 6 for, now at least. Have a great day.
DeleteLovely cards - I just love swaps of any kind. They're like getting art love in the mail!
ReplyDeleteHi Win, I know - a lovely art surprise instead of bills! It has been great.
