Painting and Party

I have actually done a few paintings in the last few days. Saturday my friend Carolyn and I set up to paint as part of the 'entertainment' for the Garden tour.  Neither of us painted the garden - lol. There were really too many people walking around and we would have been in the way. I just did a quick painting of the valley view that I have done many times before. I was also jumping up all the time to show and explain some of the items I had on display for sale, so my painting was done in spurts.
#1106 - A Misty Day in the Valley - 5 x 7 watercolour
While I was painting in one garden, my husband and another friend were playing in a different one.
They played for almost 4 hours straight until Joanna lost her voice and Bob lost his lip - lol.  All in all it was a good day.

I did more painting today because I gave another friend a 'private' painting party.  It is so much easier doing a party one on one as I just paint the same scenes as the 'student'. It helps that she chose scenes I have done many times.

I also added some of my paintings to the new gallery space for Art in the Chamber at the Creston Chamber of Commerce/Visitor Centre. It is a nice venue but there is no one on staff most of the time to connect with visitors so sales will be very limited. Here are a few of the pictures I am displaying.

I keep waiting for life to settle down but there always seems to be something else that I have to do. I need to manage my time better or stop volunteering for things - sigh.

Thanks for stopping by - I would love to hear from you!

  1. How great that you were part of a garden tour too. They are fun to do. I don't usually bring anything along to sell but I do like chatting with the people, some of whom remember me from other years. Nice paintings to have hang in the Chamber of Commerce office. Places like that are hard because it is impossible to have someone covering the art sales. Good luck anyway!

    1. Thanks Joan. The garden tour was nice, we had the chance to tour the gardens on Sunday but I had a prior commitment and couldn't make it. In the past the Chamber and the visitor centre were in the same space so the visitor centre staff would handle sales. Now we have to hope people will contact the artists or come back when the gift shop is open. But, it is better than no venue at all. thanks for stopping by.

  2. So nice your garden is up and blooming enough to have folks enjoy all your hard work. So hot here now the sun is frying my potted plants. They drink, drink, drink. Even the basil who loves sun says, enough, but all we see is more mid 90s on the horizon. Many nice pics and hopefully you will get some sales. Still no notifications, crazy google

    1. Thanks Nelvia, It has been cold and rainy here so my flowers are not blooming as well as they would with some warmth. No notifications here either and I have been so busy I forget to check my blog - oh well, they will get it fixed some day.

Sigh, right there with you. I thought I would have a few quiet days, but the busy continues here as well. ;o/

    1. Hi Chandra. Your first comment didn't come thru. Also, I am not getting notifications by email for the comments on my blog so I am late replying. Thank you very much for your comment about everything being beautiful. Ps I don' t know how they could play and sing for so long either.
