I feel like I have been on a treadmill with no way to get off! Life has been so busy between yard work, building a rock wall with recycled cement and stone, dentist and doctor appointments and, of course, my first Watercolour Painting Parties of the year.
I had a super group of five lovely ladies for my first party on Friday. A few of them had done some painting before but every one did a marvellous job with their painting - experienced or not!

Marg with her cabin in the swamp |

Judy with her foggy lighthouse |

Another Judy with her lighthouse |
|
Deni with her windblown lighthouse |

These fog paintings don't really show up well when they are this small but , believe me - all of the paintings are super!!!
My Saturday party was much smaller; only two participants. We were gong to paint 'Little Guys' and both of them decided to paint the same scenes. This made my job much easier and we even had time to take a walk out in my yard and enjoy the lovely weather, the music from the creek and the birds and the flowers that are in bloom.

Heather and Eileen had such a great time that they are going to join my June 25th party when we will be doing vignettes.
I love it when things work out so well!
Glad to see your classes went so well. Looks like all the ladies had a good time and did some nice work. I hope the treadmill slows down a bit for you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Joan. I am getting off the treadmill tomorrow for a few hours because I need a break but then it is back on for more of the same. As for party goers- I like happy and satisfied people!
DeleteAwesome work all!! I looked at these larger, and they really look great :) Glad you get a bit of a break, sounds like your summer is going to go by fast. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sheila. The summer arrived with a bang - hot weather and clear skies - I hope it lasts.
DeleteWell I think the garden is the treadmill in and of itself, so much going on to get it opened back up. Then putting in a wall - whew, that is just plain hard work. The classes look like they are going well and isn't it wonderful that all have such great results. So, means you are doing much right!! We know it isn't rocket science, but think we make it so as we go along. Glad you are doing well and staying busy :)
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh about the rocket science comment, Nelvia - I use it so much when talking about art. It is not that art is not hard - it just doesn't have to be precise AND, everyone likes different things so by all means - be different!
DeleteSuch great results, Val - you're spreading the art 'word' in style!!!
