The profile section is still a work in progress but a number of us have started our profiles and when the web-master has finished tweaking I think it will be a great place to check out the arts in the Creston Valley. Check out My Profile
I can't say that I am convinced about the usefulness of web pages, blogs and social media sites for promoting art but one has to try something! Bob and I were talking about the problem and he decided to check the numbers. There are over a billion web pages! And when you add in blogs, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest etc. etc. etc. All I can say is WOW!
How does one little needle (my web page, for instance) get noticed in such an overwhelming haystack? My Web page
I will continue to do what I do and share with the world in the same way AND each time I learn a new way to promote my art I will try that too. Mellowood Studio on Amazon
Now, on to the art!

Best wishes to everyone on this first day of Spring - may flowers bloom in your gardens and joy in your hearts!
Val, I like your new blog and always love your art. Your Amazon page is great and so is your Website. Keep going and putting out your beautiful artwork. The universal law will return to you because you give through your art.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your great comments Joan. In spite of some disappointment about sharing my art with the intention to sell, I don't think I will be stopping any time soon - I love to create it AND to share it.
DeleteI so admire you for your marketing persistence, Val. Good on you for trying it all! Your vignettes are delightful...
ReplyDeleteThanks Win. I figure the more I get my art out there the better the chances of making an impact.
DeleteThey are both beautifu, Val! Hopefully your entry in the Art Council's webpage will bring you some customers.
ReplyDeleteHave a creative week! :)
Thank you Julia, I was very happy with both of them too. About the web page - it can't hurt and might help; I just keep my fingers crossed - lol
DeleteThese are both wonderful, and I do love the unfinished look as well. Love the trees and shadows in the first one, and the light against dark is wonderful in the second. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sheila. I am definitely going to be doing more along the same lines. I hope you noticed that I finally learned how to do a link without showing the URL - thanks for you help with that!
DeleteLovely paintings!!! I enjoyed looking around on your website...nicely done. I keep saying I have to do one, but haven't made any attempt yet. lol
ReplyDeleteThank you Joan. I am having fun doing these vignettes and have more in the works. I am glad you like the webpage. I am lucky to have a very computer savvy husband so the webpage is in his charge - all I have to do is remember to get him to add paintings. All of this internet stuff takes time and that is often is short supply AND I would rather be painting. Have a good weekend and thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteOh Val you are so industrious,
ReplyDeletehere's hoping all your hard work will pay off.
keep it up
Thanks Shelly, I hope the hard work will pay off too but I won't hold my breath - lol
